Yellowstone Park, the oldest and the most amazing national park.

Yellowstone National Park  is the oldest and also  the largest, and probably the best-known national park in the United States. It is situated in three states Wyoming , Montana and Idaho and it covers the area of 8 991 km² including lakes, rivers, mountain ranges and canyons.
The park was established by the U.S. Congress on 1 March, 1872 as the country’s first national park. Many people think it is the oldest national park in the world.
Yellowstone was designated a UNESCO biosphere reserve in 1976 and a World Heritage site in 1978
The park includes the greatest number hydrothermal phenomena such as geysers, hot springs, mud pots and fumaroles  in one place. The most famous one is  Old Faithful, a geyser which erupts every 45 to 80 minutes to a height of about one hundred feet.

Yellowstone Park has a rich flora, about 1350 species of plants can be seen  in the park.   Most  of the park’s area is covered by forest, and the most popular trees are pines,  lodgepole pines,  whitebark pines and also Douglas firs.  Along streams visitors can see cottonwoods , willows and aspens grow  in many  places.  Many wild flowers and plants, like phlox, lupines, cinquefoils, larkspurs, and Indian paintbrushes, also can be found in the Yellowstone Park.
Yellowstone is the habitat of about 60 species of mammals such as  the timber wolf, coyote, the threatened Canadian lynx, and grizzly bears. Other large mammals which live there are  the bison black bear, elk, moose, mule deer, white-tailed deer, mountain goat, pronghorn, bighorn sheep, mountain lion and cougar. There are also 30 species of birds, 16 species of fish, five species of amphibians and six species of reptiles in the park.

If you want to watch the most amazing flora and fauna, plan your trip to the park and see its wonders. You can trek in the park or go on guided tours, come to visitor centres and many museums in the park area. Visitors can go horse-riding, cycling, fishing and boating. You can learn about the park’s history and about its inhabitants. You can take the most amazing pictures to remember your experience in the park.
