Learn English at Home

There are many applications that help in learning English. You can easily download them on your phone and practice whenever you are bored, waiting in a queue or for a bus. Check them out!

BBC Learn English

Very nice app made by professionals. Here you will be able to watch news in English and answer some questions, do some exercises according to your level.

Duolingo - a free online language learning portal based on the gamification system, the operation of which has been confirmed in independent research. Duolingo can be used using a computer and applications for Android, iOS and Windows Phone - using mobile applications you can do some of the lessons without access to the Internet.

By 2016, over 100 million users were using Duolingo. What i s great about this app is that you can use it to learn whatever language you want! German, Spanish, how about Chinese or Turkish?

At Duolingo there is a virtual lingot currency, with which you can buy additional options (eg language test, additional lessons). Lingots cannot be bought for real money, but only "earn", finishing the next elements of the course.

Memrise- is an application for intelligent learning and repetition of words and phrases. Its idea comes from funny memese. It is proved that when your brain makes connections between a word and something funny - you memorise it better. And you HAVE FUN!

It allows you to repeat new words and phrases at selected intervals, which promotes effective memorization. You can choose from a number of courses to learn at Memrise - depending on your level or topic that interests you. The courses are created largely by Memrise users.

Memrise allows you to build your own list of words and add your own pictures, memes or sentences to help people remember the phrase. It is really amazing, it is like a combo of fiszki + mind map + funny pictures.

Busuu- you can learn in this application vocabulary and expressions that suit your interests and goals, you can practice with native speakers learning busuu in other languages. In this way, we get to know the different accents and local varieties of English.

HelloTalk Learn Languages is a solution for older people who not only want to learn the language but also learn how to use it. I don't recommend it to children - because of internet safety. The application allows you to learn through one of the most effective methods - conversation. Its operation resembles a social networking site where you can get in touch with other users. In this way, you can not only learn the language, but also new, interesting people.  Currently I am talking to people who want to learn Polish - in exchange they are helping me with French, which is really cool!

SuperMemo- is a learning method that is to be 15 times more effective than traditional methods. The application has unique courses that have been divided into blocks and a special method of material repetition. It is possible to synchronize the application with other devices.

LearnEnglish Podcasts is a tool that lets you listen to your language. The method consists in listening to conversations with the English on specific topics. Then, questions are asked about the dialogue being heard. Thanks to this, you can feel more confident when talking to foreigners.
