Bubble and squeak
Traditional British dish consisting
of vegetables, especially potatoes and cabbage. The components are fried and served as a side dish. Bubble
and squeak, which dates from the 18th century. It was typically made with scraps
from the Sunday roast and eaten the next day. The name of the dish derives
from sounds it makes while being prepared.
Haggis
It is a salty pudding containing
sheep's pluck (heart, liver, and lungs); ground with onion, oatmeal, suet, spices, and salt, mixed
with stock, and cooked while traditionally encased in the animal's stomach
though now often in an fake casing instead.
Bangers and mash
It's a traditional dish of Great Britain comprising sausages served with
mashed potatoes. It may consist of one of a variety of flavoured sausages made
of pork, lamb, or beef (often specifically Cumberland sausage). The dish is
sometimes served with onion gravy, fried onions, or peas.
Cornish Pastries
It's a baked pastry, a traditional
variety of which is especially connected with Cornwall and Devon, United Kingdom. It is made
by aspect an uncooked filling, typically meat and vegetables, on one half of a
flat shortcrust pastry circle, folding the pastry in half to wrap the filling
in a semicircle and crimping the round ridge to form a seal before baking.
Lancashire Hotpot
It's a stew derived from Lancashire
in the North West of England. It consists of lamb and onion, topped with sliced
potatoes and baked in a heavy pot on a low heat.
