Look at the map of the United Kingdom (the UK). The UK isn't one country.
There are four countries in the UK: England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland.
The capital of Scotland is Edinburgh.
The capital of Wales is Cardiff.
The capital of Northern Ireland is Belfast.
London is the capital of England and of the UK.
People in the UK are British. They are also English, Scottish, Welsh or Irish. The four countries are different to each other.
England is flat and there are lots of villages with cottages and gardens.
In Scotland there are amazing castles, lakes and mountains.
Wales has got green mountains, blue lakes and pretty valleys.
Northern Ireland is across the sea. In its capital there are big public buildings and beautiful public gardens.
