Liverpool - city of the Beatles

Liverpool is a city and metropolitan district located on the west coast of northern England, about 340 km from London, on the north bank of the Mersey River estuary.  




It is the second largest port center of Britain after London and one of the most important such centers in history. It is an industrial center (mainly fuel, car and electronics), cultural and scientific. Six buildings in the city, three in the port and shopping area of the city and three in the center of historic buildings in 2004, were listed as Liverpool Maritime Mercantile City on the UNESCO World Heritage List. 

The Beatles rock band is associated with Liverpool, which was created and performed in The Cavern club in this city. Liverpool is a railway junction, road and air hub, with excellent communication not only with the capital and nearby Manchester, but with England and northern Wales and southern Scotland. The city of Birkenhead is connected by two tunnels under the Mersey estuary - Kingsway and Queensway. 



Atractions in Liverpool: 

1. Pier Head- a marina in Liverpool city center, located on the River Mersey, which includes a team of three buildings called The Three Graces 

2. Liverpool Cathedral- The main temple of the diocese of Liverpool. 


3. Echo Arena - It is divided into two parts: Arena and Convention Center (ACC) and BT Convention Center. Echo Arena was opened in January 2008; while the opening of the Arena and Convention Center was made on May 22 in the same year by Queen Elizabeth II and Prince Philip. The right to the name of the facility (Echo Arena) is granted to Liverpool Echo and Bt Group.
