One of the most important things you can learn - is a past participle.
Once you master this big table, you know the verbs in every possible tense and you know their meanings - it will be way easier for you o understand all kinds of texts.
You can download the table here:
TU MOŻNA POBRAĆ TABELĘ CZASOWNIKÓW< 2 STRONY
The sooner you are done with that - the better. Otherwise, it will hunt you year after year.
What strategies might you use to learn the table?
1) Firstly, I advise yo divide your material into smaller parts.
2) You can always categorize all the words. It is up to you, whether you will categorize them according to the manner of their conjugation or not. Maybe it would be easier for you to see the similarities like:
sing-sang-sung
sink-sank-sunk
buy-bought- bought
catch-caught - caught
think-thought - thought
3) A good idea for those who have a great musical memory is to make up a little song about the words.
Here is an example of a great rap by a teacher I found on youtube:
You can always make a funny poem with problematic words too.
4) Learn all your new vocabulary in all the tenses.
5)Start with the most common verbs and go down to the more difficult ones. Making flashcards is a good idea! You can also use online platforms to help you learn like duolingo, quizlet, Quizizz
