Washington - not the capital of the USA :) (10 to 1)

Have you ever wondered why they always put D.C. when they mention the capital of the USA?
Because George Washington was such a popular man, that they named lots of places after him. D.C - meaning District of Columbia, ensured that the capital is not confused with Washington - the state.

Washington is a state on the northern Pacific Coast, bordering with Canada in the North and with the state of Oregon in the South.

Seattle

The biggest city in Washington is Seattle. Seattle is an important port, but best known for two world-famous companies that have their headquarters here: the airplane manufacturer Boeing and the software giant Microsoft.

The state is cut in two very different halves by the Cascade Range, the northern continuation of the Rocky Mountains. The area to the West of the mountains has a very wet and mild oceanic climate, whereas the Eastern part of the state has a semi-arid climate, with very cold winters and hot sunny summers. 

Western Washington is relatively densely populated, urbanised and industrialised, while Eastern Washington is largely rural and agricultural.

Washington DC is located on the Potomac River. It is inhabited by more than 600,000 people. The city was founded decision of Congress in 1790, and since 1800 is the capital of the United States.In the city there are many things to see and do. 

Mali is the most popular - the park, located near the residence of the great politicians. It contains monuments and buildings commemorating important events in the history of the United States. Washington city also boasts the world's largest library. Library of Congress Holds more than 95 million volumes and a lot of microfilm and computer diskettes.
